Jamaica August 2018
August 11-17, 2018
If you’ve ever considered a medical missions trip then GO-ing on a trip with us to the beautiful mountains of Jamaica will be just for you!
Our nursing students who went, including two RN’s, met up with Nurse Karen and Dr. Kim from Jamaica to do 2 health clinics, serving over 80 people, as well as 2 days of running a typical clinic serving about 75 people! During these 2 clinic days patients received pre-testing, a visit with the doctor and medication that was donated. OnePlusGod took some Bibles and tracts to make sure that patients also received adequate spiritual care - many were prayed over, encouraged, comforted from Scripture, and some gave their lives to Christ or recommitted themselves to the Lord.
We also had the privilege of visiting a local church on the Sunday enjoying typical Jamaican style worship, and had a ton of fun with probably about 40 young people the Sunday afternoon with spontaneous Bible dramas and fun songs!
This trip allowed people to put their medical skills to use for God’s glory, but the devotions also challenged us all to look fresh at God’s dream for our lives, and where our focus should be at as we aim to live a life that helps people to see the Kingdom of Heaven reflected in our words, actions, studies and relationships.
Join us next time - just GO and make a difference!
