Testimony

Matthew grew up in a small town in Michigan as one of 11 children. He came to know love and grace through a relationship with Jesus at an early age. Since then he has been learning what it means to grow in that grace and live fully dependent on Christ. In high school he became very involved in music ministry and this opened the door for many opportunities in various ministry settings. In 2001 he met and married his wife Amy and they now reside in Marion Ohio with their 5 children, where he serves as worship and care Pastor at Cornerstone Alliance Church.

In 2014, Matthew was presented with the opportunity to join a OnePlusGod mission team on a short term trip to Haiti. Through that trip God expanded his heart for the people of all nations. Since then, he has continued to partner with OneplusGod ministries on a return trip to Haiti, as well as Israel, Thailand, and several retreats. He enjoys leading worship on these trips and has learned so much from each experience. Another passion of his is to live out his gift of mercy and shepherding through listening to people’s stories and encourage them to live out their faith with Jesus in community!

Testimony

I decided to run with Jesus when I was 5 because there was no time to wait.  Thankfully my parents are both Christian's and were able to show me the ropes at a young age. I pretty much went about figuring out life, friends, and Jesus in a small town setting and fearing the apocalypse like most millennial Christian kids.

God brought Wayne De Wet into my life as my pastor and things really got interesting. This man from South Africa started expanding my worldview, and before I knew it, I was on a plane to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. That trip sent me on a mission's trajectory that has changed my life and understanding of God. In 2017 I moved to the Philippines with International Justice Mission and stayed nearly a year and a half. While there, I learned so much working with women and children that have come out of sex-trafficking.  I truly believe that God is reflected and understood differently in every culture. My experience has been that service, genuine relationships, and traveling has made me fall deeply in love with the Lord in a way that I never knew possible.

Testimony

I grew up in the church with wonderful parents and a loving church family. I made the decision to follow Jesus at church camp as a 6th grader. Not long after this, our church and family began to get involved with missions, thanks to our incredible new pastor. My first mission trips were to Kentucky, Haiti, Thailand, and Indonesia when I was in high school. I have been so blessed to have a front row seat to the making of this ministry as I entered adulthood. Through these experiences, God made it clear that he was calling me to a life of service to those who are physically and spiritually hurting. With the His guidance, I chose to pursue the path of becoming a medical missionary. I attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University, a place that the Lord used to grow me in all areas of life.  I graduated from MVNU May 2018 and am pursuing placement in professional school to continue my medical education. In the midst of all that, I met my incredible husband Spencer who I dated through my college years. We had the special privilege to travel to Southeast Asia with OnePlusGod during summer 2017 as an engaged couple, and we were married by Pastor Wayne July 2018. We are learning and loving the process of pursuing God as a married couple. We don't yet know what medical missions will look like in our future, but we trust in God’s good plan.

Testimony

I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio and have been blessed with a loving, Godly family. I have grown up in the church and was blessed to have two parents who have always been very involved in the church. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved to help people and have wanted to follow God in whatever direction He led me. I started to realize what it meant to follow God’s call after I went on a National youth conference with Nazarene teens from all around the world in 2015. Ever since that conference I have followed tried to follow God’s call in my life. During the summer of 2016 I went on a missions’ trip to Belize with my youth group. I fell in love with missions and decided to attend MVNU for my first year of college in the fall of 2017 with a major in Intercultural Studies (missions). I made amazing friends and finally felt like I belonged somewhere and was doing what God wanted me to do. The spring of 2018 my brother got in a terrible accident that almost killed him and my whole view of life was flipped upside down. Through this trial the call that I thought God had made in my life changed. So, this year I transferred to Marion Tech and am now going to major in Physical Therapy. Through all of this I have learned to just trust in God and follow His call no matter your own selfish wants and desires. I still love missions’ and want to continue my work in a missions’ field even though that is no longer my track of education. After all my trials, I am still pursuing God and His call for me to help others in whatever way it may be, and I am excited to see where God leads me next.

Testimony

I am a retired Registered Nurse and part owner of Hope Crossing Christian Books & Gifts, in Marion, Ohio. I was born and raised in Marion county. Graduated from Ridgedale H S, and obtained my nursing degree from Marion Technical College. I have two grown daughters and four grandchildren, the youngest grandchild is 15 years old. I was baptized at the age of 13 in Lee St. Presbyterian Church, where my grandmother faithfully took me to every Sunday. I brought my children up in that church where I served as a youth leader, choir director, and pianist/organist.

I have been on several mission trips including one to Haiti, with OnePlusGod. The trip to Haiti was the first mission trip I had taken that was strictly about evangelism and I loved it. The biggest blessing you will ever have in your life is when you witness to someone and they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior! It doesn’t get any better than that.  I came home with the thought, the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. I encourage everyone to be a laborer, whether it’s in going to the mission field, supporting or praying for those who are there.

I believe in what OnePlusGod ministries is doing and am hoping to be able to contribute in any way that I can.

Testimony

It's an honor to be a part of the OnePlusGod family as their prayer coordinator. I believe that God is pleased when He sees and hears His children supporting each other and lifting each other up in prayer! I have a favorite song by Jeremy Camp called Same Power. In that song there's a line that says,"the same power that rose Jesus from the dead...lives in us!" That's an awesome and powerful thought! That "same power" is available to us for every circumstance in our lives. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus reminds us that " with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!" Prayer connects us to the creator of the universe and connects us to each other. It is my hope that everyone who supports the OnePlusGod ministry, or if you're just exploring this website, that you may live your life knowing there is no limit to the power of prayer.

Eileen McMahon

Testimony

It’s a struggle to write a testimony that portrays me as contributing anything to One Plus God. Pastor Wayne and staff have ministered to me in such a way that my experiences with this organization have blessed me far more than I could ever hope to bless in return!

Let’s just say that my past was filled with a deep darkness, but then God…

Perhaps it’s taking the easy way out, but I can think of no better words than the lyrics of a song by Big Daddy Weave:

"My Story"
If I told you my story
You would hear Hope that wouldn't let go
And if I told you my story
You would hear Love that never gave up
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life, but it wasn't mine
If I told you my story
You would hear victory over the enemy
And if I told you my story
You would hear freedom that was won for me
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life overcome the grave
If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long

Favorite Bible Verse

Isaiah 45:3-7 - And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness—secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name. And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one. I am the Lord; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle, though you don’t even know me, so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am the Lord, and there is no other. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.

Testimony

I grew up as a pastor's kid in South Africa, so I was always exposed to missions work and I've been going on mission trips to Namibia and Thailand since I was in diapers, literally. Since my family moved to the United States in 2008, I've been to Haiti four times. In 2013, my dad asked me if I could start editing all the videos for OnePlusGod, which at first was just cutting off the beginnings and the endings of footage. But now the videos range from overall trip feedback to testimonies after mission trips or retreats. I enjoy it very much, especially if I was on the trip or retreat that I'm editing for. I really believe in what OnePlusGod is doing and I'm so happy to contribute in whatever way I can. Over the years, I've made more than two hundred videos, and I can't wait to see what happens next for OnePlusGod!

Growing up in a Christian family, my Grandfather was a preacher. So I've known about Jesus, and YHWH, God, and the Holy Spirit for a while. But have had some bumps in the road. God is always showing Himself to me, and on Sept 3rd 2000, I gave my life to Him, and it has been an interesting ride ever since. I have worked with one person that is a prophet, but not self-proclaimed with his website, dreams and visions. I've also been working with Wynand and his Missions ministry's website and hope to get more involved on the Missionaries side, possible video's and interviewing etc...
